Sweet dreams, buddy.

Ronald "Ron" Grady is a character in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge.

He was a student and was initially Jesse Walsh's rival, but the two grew close while sharing punishment under Schneider. He was the second victim in the A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge killing spree. He is portrayed by the actor Robert Rusler.

Story[]

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge[]

Ron Grady is introduced as a competitive boy and the class clown. This is seen when he plays baseball with Jesse and loses, which makes him angry, or when he makes vulgar noises in biology class.

Although he has conflicts with Jesse at first, after a while doing the exercise circuits that Schneider forced them to do, they end up being friends. They talk in the locker room, on walks, and even Ron invites Jesse to the movies so he can calm his stress.

Because Ron pushed his grandmother down the stairs, he couldn't go to the Sunday party at Lisa's house. So when things get out of control between Jesse and Lisa at the cabin, Jesse decides to go to Ron's house to confess what was going on with that "evil force" that wanted to take over him.

Jesse confided his fears concerning Freddy Krueger to Ron and asked him to watch over him while he slept to make sure Freddy did not gain control. However, Ron fell asleep and Freddy seized control and possessed Jesse again before murdering Ron. His soul was absorbed by Freddy.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master[]

Ron's soul like that of all of Freddy's victims is released when Alice Johnson beats Freddy.

Personality[]

Ron is a competitive young man and usually gets angry if he loses, he is nice and funny (so he does not hesitate to make jokes when he can). It could also be said that he is someone absent-minded because Kerry seems to have feelings for him but he doesn't notice her.

He is very good at performing sports, a bit rough when eating and doesn't hesitate to say what he thinks.

Physical appearance[]

Ron Grady is a young man with dark hair, brown eyes and thick and defined eyebrows. He has a worked and athletic body.

Relationships[]

Jesse Walsh[]

It is with Jesse that we see that he relates the most. Although at first their relationship was conflictive, they eventually ended up being friends. It is precisely Ron who reveals to him that the house where Jesse lives is riddled with deaths. He also seems to care about the well-being of his friend, so he tries to be funny and understanding with him most of the time.

Schneider[]

Ron hates the physical education teacher and doesn't hesitate to make fun of him with Jesse in the locker room (even if it has consequences later). He also seems to have been watching him carefully as Ron seems to know a few things about Schneider.

Kerry Hellman[]

Kerry Hellman seems to have feelings for him because she asks him in a particular way if he will go to the party on Sunday at Lisa's house and, when he says no, she changes her mood suddenly.

Jesse's Lost Journal[]

While the events depicted in Jesse's Lost Journal are not part of the series timeline or canon, Mark Patton (who played Jesse Walsh in A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge) wrote a string of events that he believes could go down in history as "what really happened." Following the timeline of the film series, the events we see in Freddy's Revenge take place in 1986, while the events described in Jesse's diary are mentioned as occurring in 1982 and 1985.

Trivia[]

  • Ron seems to know some of Schneider's secrets as he plays a joke on Jesse saying "Coach liked cute boys like you" and that he went to seedy places.
  • Jesse is the only person who calls him by his last name ''Grady''. While Kerry calls him ''Rony''.
  • From what can be seen in Ron's room, he seems to like music too much. You can see posters of Tina Turner, Limahl, King Cobra, among others.
  • In Jesse's Lost Journal, Ron and Jesse have a loving bond. Jesse describes him in his diary as "true love".
